What is NLP?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the art and science of personal excellence.1

Neuro’ part acknowledges the fundamental idea that all behaviour stems from our neurological processes of sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and feeling. It’s how we make ‘sense’ of the world.

Linguistic’ part acknowledges that we use language to order our thoughts and behaviour and to communicate with others.

Programming’ refers to ways we can choose to organize our ideas and actions to produce results.

‘NLP deals with the structure of human subjective experience; how we organize what we see, hear and feel, and how we edit and filter the outside world through our senses.’ 2

‘Whatever you do for a living, whatever life stage you are at and wherever you live, you will find that NLP will offer you a fresh and different way of connecting with the people you care about and enable you to discover more about yourself, how you tick and how what you do well in one sphere of your life can be transferred and applied to other areas.’3

NLP helps to give you choice on how you respond to challenges in your life – choices that you weren’t aware of by looking at how we process and respond to information.

NLP can set you free from assumptions that you have held onto for years.
